I want to overcome

I want to overcome

I had a great conversation this week with a wise man. During our conversation, the phrase “to him who overcomes” was mentioned several times. He felt that this phrase would mark many of the blessed in this season.

There is not one reading this who is exempt from challenges. We all have tremendous opportunities to overcome personal and external obstacles. The greatest reward of our perseverance is the revealing of the Lord in us.

It is my personal objective to stop walking around certain same mountains in my life. The view is old, the experience stale and gloomy.

There is a roar rising within me. Similar to the one in Jesus that picked up a whip and drove out the money changers. One that convinces me that I, and others in my life, can and should be living higher.

I am looking for different, better results. Deeper relationships, more dynamic life experiences, more grace, more victory, more love. I want to overcome.

The scriptural promises to the overcomer are plentiful and to be desired. Here’s a list just from Revelation. Each begins to him who overcomes or He who overcomes…

I will grant to eat of the Tree of Life in the paradise of God

Will not be hurt by the second death

to him I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it.

To him I will give authority over the nations

Will thus be clothed in white garments; and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.

I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he will not go out from it anymore; and I will write on him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God

I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

Whatever reward you enjoy now by living low, does not compare to the above. I don’t need to give examples of areas requiring your perseverance. Your spirit reminds you of them every day.

Respond to the Lion of Judah inside of you. The One who make us more than conquerors is a burgeoning volcano of overcoming power.

Stand in your identity as a child of God and make life bend to it. He is with you and in you. May you be counted among the overcomers.

Love to you,

Mark
